Spirit of Giving Hunt County, a 501-c(3) organization, is based on a ministry that began in 2007 by Mike Woods of Paris.
The Hunt County event was originally a benefit held in partnership with the Greenville Lions Club, but it has been on its own since 2016.
Our goal at Spirit of Giving Hunt County is to do what we can to make sure each and every child in Hunt County feels the joy and love of the Christmas season.
Our year-end Christmas celebration is approaching fast and we’re making preparations.
Don’t miss out!

The big day may have come and gone, but keep in touch as we’re always up to something new and exciting.
Renee Francey was the heart of Spirit of Giving. As co-founder alongside her husband, Chuck, she helped shape a mission rooted in compassion, community, and making every person feel seen. Renee had a remarkable ability to pour love into others—quietly, consistently, and without condition. Anyone who crossed her path felt it. You were safe with her. You were valued. You were loved.
Renee had a gift for speaking life over people. She listened deeply, encouraged freely, and carried a grace that made room for everyone. Even in seasons of her own struggle, she continued to uplift those around her. That was simply who she was—someone whose words healed, whose hugs brought comfort, and whose faith shined through every interaction. She embodied a Jesus-kind of love that is rare to find this side of Heaven.
One of Renee’s favorite sayings was this:
"Our job is to love others without stopping to inquire whether or not they are worthy—because none of us are."
Those words became the way she lived. She chose empathy over judgment, hope over bitterness, and kindness over anything else. She spoke life, and she lived grace.
To know Renee was to witness a spirit filled with joy. And nothing brought her more joy during the holidays than her love for the Grinch. Each year, she and Chuck would bring Whoville to life in a way only they could—bright, quirky, full of laughter, and overflowing with love for the families we serve.
Because of that, Spirit of Giving will lovingly dedicate the theme of our annual Christmas Celebration to “Whoville” every year in Renee’s honor. It will stand as a tribute to her bright spirit, her humor, and the joy she brought to our community.
Renee leaves behind a legacy that continues to shape us:
Love people—no matter what.
Speak life.
Make others feel seen.
Walk with grace.
We invite our community to carry that spirit forward.
Because once you knew Renee, you were, and always will be, part of Team Renee.
Go with grace, Renee.
We love you.
